Turning Ideas into Reality
The journey began at the team leaders’ meeting, where ideas flowed freely. Team leaders from Hembrigg, Morley, and Leeds worked together to turn these ideas into action. Their main goal was to make sure the activities matched what the people we support enjoy.
Crafting Joy
For those who like arts and crafts, we organised a mask-making activity. It was heartwarming to see everyone busy creating their masks. The joy on their faces was priceless, especially when they received sweets and bubbles as prizes.
Bouncing with Happiness
One of the highlights of the event was the bouncy castle. It was a delight to see everyone having fun, bouncing around with friends. For John, it was his first time on a bouncy castle, and his excitement was contagious. Sarah* even said she wants one for her birthday – a sign of how much fun everyone had.
A Community BBQ
To end the event, we had a BBQ. All the houses shared the costs, making it a real community event. The delicious food and the sense of togetherness made the BBQ a perfect ending to a fantastic day.
Celebrating Unity and Inclusion
We are grateful to the services for their hard work and dedication in making sure the people we support had an amazing time. This event was a beautiful reminder that a disability doesn’t define who you are. It’s the spirit, joy, and love we share that truly matters.
We look forward to the next event and to continuing to celebrate the wonderful individuals we support. Here’s to more moments of unity, fun, and inclusion!
