Your Questions Answered
Starting the care journey can feel overwhelming. We’re here to help.
Here are some of the most common questions people ask when they’re exploring care options for themselves, a loved one, or someone they support professionally.
Who can ivolve support?
We support adults aged 17+ with:
- Learning disabilities
- Autism
- Mental health needs
- Dementia
- Acquired or traumatic
- brain injury
- Huntington’s disease
- Complex needs, including behaviours that challenge or dual diagnoses
Where are your services located?
We operate across more than 300 services in England and Wales, in cities, towns and rural communities. We can help you find a service near your home, your support network, or your commissioning area.
How is care funded?
Care can be funded in several ways:
- Through your local authority or Integrated Care Board (ICB) after a care needs assessment
- Through NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) if someone has significant health needs
- Via private or family funding
We accept a range of funding arrangements and can help guide you through the process.
What is a care needs assessment?
A care needs assessment is usually carried out by your local authority or social care team. It’s designed to understand what kind of help a person might need to live safely and well – from personal care to supported housing or more specialist support.
You can request one directly via your council’s adult social care department.
What type of care is right for me or my family member?
That depends on a few factors, like:
- The level of day-to-day support needed
- Whether there are clinical or health-related needs
- How much independence the person wants to maintain
- What kind of environment they feel most comfortable in
We offer:
- Supported Living for greater independence with flexible support
- Residential Care for a 24/7 structured home environment
- Complex Nursing Care for people with high medical or behavioural needs
How long does the referral or placement process take?
It depends on the urgency of the need, funding arrangements, and availability. Some placements can happen quickly – especially if someone is stepping down from hospital or secure care – while others may take longer to match the right location and team.
Our referral team will keep you updated at every step and work closely with professionals and families to make the transition as smooth as possible.
Can families stay involved?
Absolutely. We actively encourage families, advocates and loved ones to stay involved in someone’s support journey. We’ll keep you informed, listen to your insights, and welcome your involvement – at every stage.
I still have questions - how can I talk to someone?
We’d love to help.
